Ingredients in our homemade organic deodorant includes a combination of some of the following, and nothing else:

  • Unrefined Cold Pressed Organic Coconut Oil – Coconut oil contains fatty acids, like lauric acid, which are known for their antibacterial benefits. It can help reduce the odor-causing bacteria in your armpits, leaving you smelling clean and refreshed.
  • Unrefined Cold Pressed Organic Shea Butter – Antibacterial and non-comedogenic, so it won’t clog your pores.
  • Organic Arrowroot Powder – A highly absorbent powder to help prevent excessive sweat. Effectively acts as an anti-perspirant. Arrowroot powder comes from the root of a tropical plant called Manihot esculenta. It is extracted without the use of high heat or chemicals, so it’s more natural than other starch powders. Other common names include Cassava, Manihot, Manioc, Yuca, Tapioca, Mandioca.
  • Organic Baking Soda – Effective at fighting body odor and soaking up sweat. Unlike its conventional counterpart, which might be derived from chemical reactions or mined from trona ore, organic baking soda often comes from nahcolite, which is natural. Nahcolite is extracted in a manner that ensures minimal disturbance to the environment.
  • Organic Lavender Extract – Food grade, organic, vegan, kosher, gluten-free, non-GMO, and alcohol free.
  • Organic Grapefruit Extract – Food grade, organic, vegan, kosher, gluten-free, non-GMO, and alcohol free.
  • Organic Teatree Extract – Food grade, organic, vegan, kosher, gluten-free, non-GMO, and alcohol free.
  • Organic Vanilla Extract – Food grade, organic, vegan, kosher, gluten-free, non-GMO, and alcohol free.
  • Organic Cucumber Extract – Food grade, organic, vegan, kosher, gluten-free, non-GMO, and alcohol free.
  • Organic Mint Extract – Food grade, organic, vegan, kosher, gluten-free, non-GMO, and alcohol free.

Our deodorant sticks are lovingly crafted with just 5 pure ingredients! It might sound a bit surprising for an organic deodorant to be so simple and effective, but we believe in the power of minimalism. While our straightforward formula is fantastic, it can experience some changes in texture during the hot summer months or extreme temperature fluctuations. We take pride in using only organic and food-grade ingredients that are great for your skin, intentionally avoiding any unnecessary additives. The simpler, the better!

Due to the absence of additives, emulsifiers, stabilizers, or preservatives, our deodorant may be a bit sensitive to heat. If it happens to melt, you might notice it re-solidifying with a slightly grainy texture. This is simply the result of Shea butter melting and cooling at a different rate than coconut oil, leading to crystallization. Many commercial creams and lotions include emulsifiers to ensure a smooth, stable mix, but we prefer to keep it pure!

You might wonder why we skip the emulsifiers. Well, they’re just an extra ingredient that we feel is unnecessary. Our 100% organic deodorant may occasionally develop a gritty texture in extreme temperatures, but typically, it has a wonderfully pleasant feel. We think adding a preventive ingredient for just one season isn’t worth it when those little grains are perfectly harmless and will melt right into your skin.
